Pregnancy for a woman is a time of internal uncertainty within her body; add that to the external uncertainty triggered by the period of the spread of COVID-19, pregnant women suffer excruciating anxiety from the thick air of uncertainty both within and outside their tender bodies.
This affected their health and the health of the baby drastically by decreasing their immunity making them susceptible to the attack of the COVID-19 virus and by many other ways. Therefore, we evaluated pregnant women and new mothers to be at our topmost at-risk groups during the time of the pandemic.

Understanding the critical importance of proper nutrition during pregnancy and postpartum, we tailored our food packages to meet the specific needs of these at-risk groups. For newborns, we included essential items like baby formula to ensure they received the nourishment they required. For mothers, we focused on providing protein-rich meals to support their own health and that of their growing babies.
To ensure that our food packages were not only nutritious but also affordable, we carefully curated a selection of staple foods such as lentils, beans, chickpeas, flour, and eggs. Additionally, we introduced special packs of vitamins and minerals specifically designed for pregnant women and newborns, recognizing the unique dietary requirements during this crucial period.
However, our commitment to supporting new and pregnant mothers came with its challenges. As the demand for our services grew, so did our costs. We relied heavily on the generosity of the community and the dedication of volunteers to sustain our efforts. Despite the financial strain, our unwavering promise remained—to help those in need and save lives, one meal at a time.
In remote regions like Bajura-Dumkot, where access to healthcare and nutritious food is limited, the impact of our intervention was particularly profound. Infant deaths were tragically common, with malnutrition identified as the primary culprit.
Through our partnership with local organizations, we delivered essential baby food to infants and provided additional protein-rich diets to mothers, addressing the root causes of malnutrition and saving lives in the process.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Representatives Mr. Ram Kumar, Naroj Aryal, and others from Ward No. 10 for their unwavering support. Their visit and recommendation of new mothers for our ‘New Mother’s Relief Package’ underscored the importance of community collaboration in ensuring the well-being of vulnerable populations.
As we continue our mission, we remain committed to providing holistic support to new and pregnant mothers, empowering them to navigate the challenges of motherhood with strength and resilience.
