Warming Hearts Nepal

Sri Chyasmitar Secondary School, Khotang

On the foggy hills of Khotang, we convinced rainfall to be on our side. Warming Hearts was an integral part of the project “Installation of a rainwater harvesting system” in Sri Chyasmitar Secondary School, from its conception, beginning, to its completion, benefitting over 600 students.

Here, at the disaster-risk zone of Sri Chyasmitar Secondary School, access to clean drinking water was a constant struggle. But thanks to the combined efforts of Warming Hearts and the local community, a solution emerged.

Convincing the unpredictable Khotang rain to cooperate and fill the storage tanks required careful planning and meticulous execution. Here’s where heroes emerged: Arpana R Pokharel didi, with her resolute commitment, and Engineer Mr. Gokul Dangal, a leading expert on rainwater harvesting, along with his skilled team. Together, they translated vision into reality.

Now, the Sri Chyasmitar Secondary School enjoys a steady supply of clean drinking water. This system is a lifeline for over 600 students, staff members, and the surrounding community. It not only ensures their well-being but also fosters a sense of environmental responsibility. The success story doesn’t end here. The knowledge and skills gained through this project can be replicated in other communities facing similar challenges. Warming Hearts is committed to replicating this model, bringing the promise of clean water to more corners of Nepal, one drop at a time.
