MAY 2020
COVID times were hard times for all the people. But it was more difficult for those who needed to be isolated from their own homes. Corners of Kathmandu and nearly every hospitals were cramped with patients and its dense population living in small areas posed significant problems and ensured rapid spread of the infection.

Meanwhile, large and spacious buildings such as schools stood empty and deserted and in desperate need of usefulness. Warming Hearts, amidst these difficulties, saw an opportunity to help.
While schools stood empty, we decided to turn one into something useful—a place where those battling COVID could get the care they needed. With the help of local leaders and medical experts, we transformed Mid Baneshwor – Ratna Rajya School into an isolation center.
This center wasn’t just a place to stay; it was set up with everything needed to take care of people with COVID-19. We made sure it had all the medical supplies like medicines and equipment, as well as oxygen for those who needed it. Doctors, nurses, and other medical staff were there 24/7 to look after patients. We made sure the center was clean and safe to reduce the risk of the virus spreading. Our goal was to make sure everyone who came for help got the best care possible and felt supported during their stay.
On May 16th, 2020, we opened the doors of the center, thanks to the support of the community and hospitals like Bir, Patan, Kanti Bal, and Motherland. Together, we made sure our efforts reached other governmental hospitals in Kathmandu. But our work didn’t stop there. It wasn’t just about setting up a center; it was about showing that when people come together, they can make a real difference. We challenged the government to do more, and our actions inspired hope and unity in everyone we met. The impact of our work was clear. The medical community recognized our efforts, and most importantly, 75 patients found comfort and care in our isolation facility.
