Nepal faced another devastating flood again on 26 August, 2026. But this was no ordinary flood. A glacier collapse triggered waves as high as 80 meters that swept away villages and settlements in its path. 1200 confirmed dead as of this writing. More than 3000 still missing. And infrastructural damages upwards of billions of dollars.
It’s the human suffering that has been the most shocking. Generations of family gone. 100s of orphaned children. And survivors left with no shelter and food. While the government leads the rescue, relief, and support operations, independent organizations and individuals have been chipping in with our support in our own capacity and expertise.
We have been active in collecting relief materials and distributing them to various sites from day one. Despite difficult terrains, alternative muddy routes, lack of overnight shelters, and constant rain, our brave volunteers have been imparting relief without deterring.
